l wanna change the automatic to a manual trans will it just fit up there or does it have to change the transfer case what could l do to relly take care of a jeep

You should post this question on Jeepforums.com. Best place to get a lot of insightful on this, & quickly. I've read some write ups about Manual to Auto, & l know it is fairly involved. You will need to replace certain computer modules & such. Not to mention having to install a manual clutch system. Hell, if u were in the area I'd trade ya, but I've only got a 4cyl. Mine is a 97 too, l love manual, but with the traffic in LA & stop n go traffic, its just not practical.. Best of luck!!
