So l just got my new 08 jeep wrangler unlimited (4door) and l wanted to remove the doors for fun nlbut it did not come with and tools, is that normal? Or do l have to try and find the star shaped tool in a hardware store?

yeah its easy to do but you do need that tool just go to a sears or something like that and get a good one that wont mess up your bolts it will be worth the extra money to have a good tool that you know works and you can always take it back if something happens to it that is why l spend the extra cash on snap-on and wolf or even craftsman

After you get your ''torx'' socket set. Take off bolts from door,..Bottom
first. Once top bolt is out swing door ''in & out'' while pulling door up.
Be very careful once door comes off as you can easily scratch things up.

Very easy T-50 Torx bit will work to loosen up all 8 nuts from the door hinge.

Remember if u have power doors/locks..be sure u roll down all ur windows before u unhook the power connects for each door. Rolling down the windows will help with lifting the door off the hinge as the front doors r pretty solid & heavy.

The power connector for the front doors r under the dash. The back two doors u will have to remove the panel cover near the floor on the B-Pillar to unhook the power connector & unhook the canvas strap as well.

When u unhook the 2 front canvas straps from the hook be careful about the door swinging towards the front as ur side mirror on the door will leave a nice dent in ur front panel if a wind picks up or u r on an incline.

You should find the torx bit at any hardware or even autoparts store. Also, be sure about laws in ur state or province about having side mirrors. l picked up 2 scooter mirrors from a motorcycle shop & bolted them into the front top hinges so l am legal. The mirrors were like $6.00/each.

Also, if u put back on ur doors..do not waste ur time putting the torx nuts back on the hinges especially if u r thinking of taking the doors off again, just saves time. l have not placed my nuts back for over a year now & no issues with the door..just easier to remove & replace without the torx nuts on those nice days.
