l have a 1991 YJ Wrangler, with the 4.0L engine

It used to rev. high, about 2000rpm, then we cleaned out the Idle Air Control modulator, and it solved the rev high problem, now it stalls out when l take off the gas.

Its an automatic, the stalling progressivly got worse and now it stall every time l take the gas off at a stop light or sign. Ive tested the idle air, and it works perfectly fine, any thing else l should try? get a new idle air?

check the alternator and the mass air flow sensor. i've had the same problem on 2 seperate occasions. it was these two things for me.

I've heard of certain sensors causing a car to stall. Maybe O2.

Could be a fuel injection problem, could be a sensor. Does the check engine light come on? You sound like you know a thing or two about cars. l have a jeep myself and it has its own set of unique problems. Ive noticed they are not the easiest cars to figure out.
