97 jeep is a 6 cyl auto and the 93 is a 4 cyl manual

l prefer manual but also the older the car is the more maintenance it requires so l would just stick with the 97 wrangler.

It depends on what u want to do with it
The tj(97) is coil sprung & is a lot more expensive to lift then the yj(93).
The 4cylinder is well underpowered ''for offroad use'' for the most part but the manual makes up for it.
But, the 3 speed auto really KILLS ur gas mileage. If u r looking for a daily driver then the 4cly with the stick will be a huge improvement. Just know that u will loose the passing speed on the highway.

l would have to see both Jeeps before l would ''trade'' one for the other but sell one to buy the other. If l wanted easier maintenance(the 4cyl is r strong) & less headaches then yea.

Like l said it depends on what ur planing on doing with the Jeep.

No, l do not care for the 4 cylinder, Depends if the 93 had modifications l wanted and if it was in good shape.

l wouldn't. The 4 ltr 6 is one of the best engines on the road today. That 93 with the 4 in it is not much better on fuel than the 6 and really lacks power in comparison. Mostly tho, the value of your 97 is much greater than the value of the 93. Unless that 93 is cherry, your throwing money away.
