l woke up this morning to go to work, but my 1994 Jeep Cherokee wo not start. When l turn the key it just keeps clicking but wo not try to turn over.l live in Iowa so it was a little cold last night about 18 degrees, do l need a jump?

Yeah, check your battery, the clicking gives it away. Just get it jumped or take your battery to like autozone.

99.9999% chance your battery is low. The cold weather will drain the life out of a battery and something as simple as a charge to the battery or a jump should solve it.

If after charging the battery back to 100% and you try to start it with no luck, then there are other issues to study. The first would be, do l need a new battery.?

Also check the connections at the battery and starter. If they are corroded the starter is not getting enough power for the solenoid to react. If the cables are corroded a jump will still get you started.

1st clean all your connections..2nd get a jump start..3rd buy a new battery.if cleaning and a new battery dont work .its either your starter siliniod..or starter (try wacking the starter with a hammer)..good luck.

Sounds like your battery is getting week. You will need to make sure the battery has enough cold cranking amps for the winter. If not then it will not start your car in the supper cold mornings. You could possibly jump start the vehicle. Not going to guarantee it. But you could give it a try. l would suggest getting a new battery with enough cold cranking amps.
